Well, well, well..........I have been selected to be on the Campus Advisory Team at Kyle's school. Our first meeting is Thursday. They only pick 5 parents to be on the committee and it is a 2 year commitment. The committee is made up of classroom teahcers, non teaching personnel, community representatives, parents and business representatives. It gives participants unique insight into the workings of the school. Often, behind the scenes information is offered on practices and programs in our school.
Here was my questionnaire that I filled out to be a candidate:
I would like to serve on the (Name of School) Campus Advisory Team.
My reasons for wishing to do so are:
1. As a parent of two "late talking children" who are and will be attending (Name of school), I feel that I may contribute a parent's knowledge, experience and ability to help with understanding of potential difficulties regarding testing, etc. of these children.
2. I would really like to offer my help in anyway possible, for the betterment of the curriculum for (X)ISD and to help bring new and fresh ideas to CAT.
3. It is my desire to help continue to make (X)ISD a district that will be a "show place for learning" for the (State) Public School District.
Guess they must of liked my answers.
